Turbotax® Collecitve Party in NYC Tonight
DJ Kenny Dope, MikeQ, and Bookworms are a triangle offense of house music, rocking The Cove tonight.
Come one come all, banji boyz and girlz! The TURBOTAX® collective is hosting yet another party at The Cove with some very big headliners. This evening includes Kenny Dope of Master At Work, the vogue knight himself, MikeQ and Bookworms.
Secretly I’m hoping Kenny Dope plays this…and this right here…but most likely he is going to play stuff like this. Either way, kick back, grab a girl (or guy) and let this NYC club legend do what he do’s. WARNING: If he plays “The Bomb” by The Bucketheads, the crowd might explode (pun intended.)
MikeQ is that dude who will make your significant other jump around, strike poses on the dancefloor with no shame or remorse whatsoever. Amongst his various releases for Qween Beat productions, the Jersey club producer’s remake of DJ Pierre’s classic ‘Master Blaster’ for LA imprint Fade To Mind is a modern day house music staple in a time where music is released and forgotten about in the same week.
Brooklyn’s own Bookworms live performance, if it is any reflection of his most recent release for Long Island Electrical Systems’ [L.I.E.S], is sure to be minimal, deep and most of all thumping.
If you’ve never been to The Cove in Willamsburg (the venue formerly known as “Hugs”): The sound system and ambiance are bassy, dim and indicative of the very hot weather we’ve had in NYC. This party will be filled with the sounds of house music, new and old. Plus the DJ booth is offset and ready for you to hover over in hopes of catching a glimpse of the performer’s magic.
This party is well worth the sweat and shame you are sure to feel tomorrow morning.
The event is FREE before 11:00 PM (come early!), $5 between 11:00 pm and Midnight, and $10 after Midnight.
FREE Beer from 11:00 pm ’til it runs out!
