TrustoCorp’s “The Future is Blight” at Lebasse Projects in Los Angeles
TrustoCorp seldom play by the rules as we found out when shooting their spread for issue 52. Best known for their guerrilla subway signs and elaborate billboards, this time around the collective has teamed up with Labasse Projects in Culver City, CA. Showing in LA for the first time in over three years, TrustoCorp employ their trademark sense of satire as they continue to highlight the social injustices of humanity. The exhibit, The Future is Blight, also features collaborations with some of the biggest names in street art, including Shepard Fairey, The London Police and Dave Flores.
The group hopes to bring to the fore the polarity of the wealth distribution in LA. TrustoCorp has also taken to the streets to distribute poverty kits, containing condoms, candy bars and cigarettes. A large mural of an LA map, spelling out the word, HELP illustrates where the packages will be available. The exhibition opened this weekend and will run through May 11th.
