The Juan MacLean “A Simple Design”

Not-so-simplicity strikes.

In anticipation of the release of their new album In A Dream, The Juan Maclean has released the second single off the project, titled “A Simple Design.” Building off their previous release A Place Called Space, this new track is very meta and is about the process of making their new album.

The duo— consisting of former LCD Soundsystem member James Murphy and John MacLean— stated that “this is a song about being stuck, paralyzed and unable to move forward, the sort of self-imposed distress that causes you to take five years to make a new album.” It turns out “A Simple Design”  may not be such a simple song after all. In A Dream is out  September 16 on DFA Records.
