Tennis “I’m Callin'”

Pop Rocks.

Denver’s romantically involved pop duo Tennis has released the second single off their upcoming third album, Ritual In Repeat. This second single, coming after “Never Work For Free,” is produced by The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney and titled “I’m Callin’.”

The new single is airy and light, much like the previous, and manages to channel the ’80s wave that many female-fronted pop rockers these days are riding. Aside from the muted guitars, the “breathy chorus” is extremely reminiscent of Danielle Haim’s vocal effects. Given the success of the genre as of late, we expect Tennis’ album to target the same audience.
