Talib Kweli, Curren$y & Kendrick Hug the Block

Kweli's new video for "Push Thru" takes you through Brooklyn, to New Orleans, to Compton.

If you could pick three highly talented emcees from three completely different regions to collaborate on a song together, would Talib Kweli, Kendrick Lamar, and Curren$y come to mind? The three actually just collaborated for Kweli’s new project and the outcome was a single titled “Push Thru” along with a fresh new video for the track. Much respect to Scott Fleishman and Fredo Tovar for directing the video and creating sort of a MTV “My Block” type feel—capturing each emcee from their native cities. From N’awlins, to the Big Apple, and finally to the Hub City, all three emcees hold their own, over the beat produced by S1 (known for the “Excellence” portion of the Watch the Throne hit “Murder to Excellence.”)

Check out the video now and look out for Kweli’s album Prisoner of Conscious out later this year.
