Superman’s mild-mannered alter ego, Clark Kent, is going from zero to working class hero in Superman issue 13, according to USA Today. In the issue, which hits stores Wednesday, a fed up Kent tells the Daily Planet that they can take their job and shove it.
Writer Scott Lobdell is introducing us to the new Clark Kent in the recently rebooted DC Comic universe. Kent is no longer the bumbling pushover Christopher Reeves portrayed in the 1980s Superman movie series. The new and improved Kent fed up with his Publisher Perry White and the shady new multimedia company that now owns The Daily Planet, does what any red-blooded, god-like 27-year-old would do: he quits and starts a tell-it-like-is news blog Lobdell compares to the Drudge Report or the Huffington Post. Correcting the ills of the world with laser vision, super strength, and the ability of flight wasn’t enough– now your man is going to get really hardcore and blog about that shit. You tell ‘em Superman!
