De La Soul – “Watch Out”
It was bodega hip hop, and a lot of effort went into it, like a well constructed movie set, but it ended up sounding so effortless. That record just sounds like audio art to me. Pariquo Fernandez sounds like a sample— a gang of people asked me where I found his vocal, and I was like ‘Pos found it..,’ lol.
Writer’s note: This is the shit right here.

Planet Asia & Ghostface – “Real Niggas”
The sound was crazy. I knew it was magic from the time the beat was finished. The outcome was crazy because Ghost became one with the beat, and Asia, well what can you say about him? It’s like the Benz or the Bentley with him, you’re always gonna get high end performance from him.
