Store Profile: The Good Company
Mass Appeal visits The Good Company.
Down on Allen St., where Chinatown, Little Italy, and the L.E.S. collide, is a new boutique bringing a refreshing stock list to the streets of NYC. Although it only opened in late 2012, The Good Company’s goal is clear and defined. They’re making a home for a number of brands that may fly under your Hypebeast radar and that are otherwise homeless in the Big Apple. From rare East Cost companies like Dertbag, Death Precision, and After Midnight to West Coast brands like Freed Minds, Peas and Carrots Intl., and Golf Wang, the store is offering an alternative to the usual brands you find at other boutiques. Besides the clothes, founders Quinn, Kahim, Kumasi, and Mr. Clicquot also have print in mind, as it doubles for a spot for you to cop dope zines like Tepsic and coffee table books made by the Gonz. In the future you can expect some heat from The Good Company in terms of dropping their own lines but for now stop on by for some “you ain’t up on this” type gear, a relaxed setting, and good people.
