Steve Carrell Turns Dark and Disturbed in “Foxcatcher”
Get a glimpse at Steve Carell's disturbingly dark role.
Steve Carell and Channing Tatum star in Foxcatcher, a gripping drama based on the true horror story of Olympic Wrestling champion Mark Schultz and the affluent, murderous schizophrenic John Eleuthère du Pont. The movie hits theaters this November, but is already making substantial noise this week at the Cannes Film Festival.
Foxcatcher has Oscar bait written all over it, with Bennett Miller (Capote, Moneyball) directing and Carrell executing his most serious and sinister role yet. Also on board are Academy Award-nominee Mark Ruffalo, Academy Award-winners Vanessa Redgrave and Sienna Miller, and the script is penned by E. Max Frye and Academy Award-nominee Dan Futterman.
