Stéphane Ashpool Reveals the Pigalle x Nike Air Force 1 Collection
Dipped and dyed AF1s.
Yesterday the Internet was set ablaze with the announcement that the Parisian kings of street style Pigalle would be collaborating with Nike. Well as details have surfaced, we now know what is to come to fruition.
In an interview with Dazed & Confused, Pigalle’s founder Stéphane Ashpool spoke on his love of basketball and how the collaboration with Nike came about. These Air Force 1s draw inspiration from the wear and tear that comes along with sporting the same gear over and over to play basketball. The choice of the AF1 silhouette is due to Ashpool’s earliest days of balling in the “hustler’s shoe.”
Official word on the creative process remains to be seen, but judging from the pictures, these kicks were dyed and painted. The Air Force 1 Highs take on a Black/Copper colorway while the Lows embody a Silver/Grey fade. Before Ashpool broke out, he blessed the Interwebs with official inspiration photos including the kicks themselves.
The Pigalle x Nike Air Force 1 Collection will release alongside a collection of t-shirts, jerseys, shorts, and accessories on April 26th at select retailers. Mark your calendars.
