For real Brooklyn heads— not the ones who just discovered the borough and infested it with an overabundance of coffee shops, organic markets, and dog parks— BK is the heart of NYC and the home of one of the most iconic movies in cinema, Spike Lee‘s Do The Right Thing.
Although Spike has been very opinionated on the subject of gentrification as of late, the legendary director will be hosting a huge block party in celebration of his 1989 film. The party will be taking place on Stuyvesant Avenue between Lexington and Quincy this Saturday, and will go from 12:00-6:00 pm.
Brooklyn borough President Eric Adams has commemorated the 25th anniversary of the film by officially naming this Saturday “Do The Right Thing” day.
Did we mention the party is free? Make sure to roll through!
