If you didn’t know, Snoop Dogg, or Snoop Lion if you prefer (which no one does), has a web series called GGN (Double G News Network) where he simulates a local news broadcast with famous guests and bikini-clad weather ladies. Previous guests have included French Montana and Juicy J, but the latest installment takes a turn for the bizarre when legendary television host Larry King joins Snoop for some interview antics.
The two begin by constructing a rap about Larry’s interests (Dodgers baseball and crunchy peanut butter, to name two), and Snoop has to put his smoke down so as not to destroy Larry and his 79-year-old lungs. They then praise each other briefly and change costumes in a really strange role reversal in which Larry King, in a beanie and Adidas track suit says “toast to the boogie” and Snoop pretends to be Larry, but is still Snoop in some of the answers he gives. It’s weird… and fascinating.
Afterward, the two perform their 4-bar rap and kick it to Thunderclap for a less than informative weather report that involves some NSFW dancing. They close the show out talking about Jackie Robinson, chicken and waffles, and Larry’s best interviews in what is the most engaging (and least out there) part of the entire video.
The two friends make for an odd couple, but they’re both such seasoned g’s in their respective fields that it almost makes sense. Anyhow, watch the video above for a little “ring-a-ding-ding” and heres to hoping Snoop continues to push the boundaries of strange career moves.
