After getting his chain snatched by 50 Cent’s entourage at Hot 97’s Summer Jam this past Sunday, Slowbucks called a press conference to address the issue.
Allegedly, a fight broke out on stage during 50’s set, and after the commotion died down Slow was visibly angry and had to be restrained by security. Apparently, Slow was assaulted and robbed of his chain by a member of 50’s entourage. Fabolous, Ebro of Hot 97, and Def Jam’s EVP Shawn ‘Pecas’ Costner were all seen trying to calm Slow down.
Though 50 claims he was performing (while wearing Slow’s chain no less) and therefore unaware of the incident, Slow still claims that the incident hurt his brand and that 50 knew what was occurring. Check footage of the incident below.
In case you were unaware, SlowBucks is a friend of 50 Cent’s but the conflict arose because Slow posted a photo with 50’s estranged son Marquise on Instagram. 50 saw the photo, and commented that the photo was a bad idea.
Slowbucks’ attorney John P. Bostany stated:
“They know he is the founder of Slowbucks, the #1 urban brand on the rise today. They want to hurt that brand and they are trying to hurt that brand we are going to put and end to that. We’re here, I’m a Trademark attorney, I’m a copyright attorney and I fight unfair competition.”
Though no lawsuit has been filed, Slowbucks is currently investigating 50 Cent’s enterprises for brand tarnishment. No specific parties have been named as of yet, and the investigation is still pending. Check both parts of the press conference below.
