Skate Video of the Week: Tengu Magenta SF Connection
Rastafarian, hill-bombing goodness!
On the Lord’s day, #OnTheGrind calls out a new skate edit that slapped us out of our boredom during the work week and reminded us why we were born to roll, and we share it with you.
Holy fuck. Why is a skate film from 2013 still making rounds in 2014? Because it’s damn good. Filmer Colin Read’s Mandible Claw is back on the map to celebrate the release of some collaborative guest boards with skateboard company Magenta, the same homies that completely obliterated the San Francisco hill-bombing section of “Tengu: God of Mischief.” You know, the rooftop skating film with the dude that jumped the 145th Street train track in New York City.
This is another wonderful (and free) part in that beautiful, jaw-dropping concoction of a skate movie. Things to watch for: Evan Kinori and John Lindsay’s sweet doubles intro, Leo Valls’ smooth style — say it with me; ‘smooth,’ ‘style’ — and Carlos Young’s (one of the guest boards) insane, high-speed, rastafarian, bongos-driven, creative-as-fuck, damn-near-three-foot-locs-flailing run. Dude is Bad Brains on four wheels! Trust me brethen, Rat Lawd no lie ’bout such irie tings…
