The definition of a “Shep Dawg” is unclear. It is also unclear just exactly how many of them there actually are (estimates say between 15 and 50). There are, however, two things we know for sure: (1) the Shep Dawgs are definitely a bunch of San Diego skater homies and (2) these dudes can skate.
The posse, which includes Baker rider Riley Hawk (son of the legendary Tony), Rowan Zarilla, Taylor Kirby and Taylor Smith, is releasing the 4th volume of their Shep Dawg series shortly and just let loose the intro and Taylor Smith’s opening section to prepare you for the impending awesomeness.
The intro consists of some very painful looking bails, as well as some very raw, interesting skating around San Diego. The whole crew definitely emanates an infectious energy and a visible joy of skating. A quirky ’80s song selection adds to the next level viewing experience.
Taylor Smiths’s loose flowing, fast and furious style makes for a riveting section. Attacking everything from banks to hubbas, his fearlessness makes the tricks even more impressive. He certainly lives up to his “T-Spliff” nickname. We definitely can’t wait ’till the full video drops, as it’s pretty much certain there will be more of this goodness in store.
