What’s True With the Wu Crew? RZA Denies Raekwon Rift
RZA drops knowledge about the Wu and Raekwon.
Raekwon had some less than kind words for RZA last week in his Rolling Stone interview in regards to Wu-Tang’s upcoming album. In turn, RZA took to Hot 97‘s Morning Show to address Rae’s comments. RZA spent the majority of the interview chatting about Brick Mansions, his new movie with the late Paul Walker, but starts to get into his Wu-family issues around the 15:40 mark saying:
“We can call it arguing, or we can call it building. But also, you guys may get a chance to come together every week, communicate and work it out. What we’re not doing though as brothers and as business brothers is putting time together.”
When speaking about Rae calling him a “bold faced liar,” Rza said:
In the new article of Rolling Stone, Raekwon says i’m a bold faced liar, which I’m far from. I don’t need to lie, I’m a grown man. What happened was that I did an interview a few weeks ago that just came out later. I guess when it came out, he read it then, but I spoke to Raekwon about 8 days ago, but the interview was probably 14-16 days ago. So he says in his interview, ‘RZA’s a liar he spoke to me.’ No. When I did the interview I hadn’t spoken to him 6 months before that until recently. Last time I saw that brother was on tour in the summer.”
Seems like the issue here is the constant back and forth via interviews and press instead of a direct phone call, or face to face meeting. Let’s hope RZA and Rae can work out their differences to finish up A Better Tomorrow.
