Kingston New York is two hours from New York City, but there’s a serious rap scene bubbling up there. An emcee named Al Boges is at the top of the food chain. A seemingly unassuming dude in real life, when he spits he becomes someone else. Putting you up on this dude early, but I promise that as he continues to develop as an artist, you’ll get to know more about Boges. I have a decent ear for rap. I was early on Your Old Droog and Rast RFC (and if you’re still sleeping on them you’ve got a barrel’s worth of mayonnaise clogging up your ears).
Meyhem Lauren is headlining, and you already know what he’s about (if you don’t know, shame on you. Go cop Silk Pyramids or get slapped in the face with a wet durag). Props to DJ Buffalo and the Flood The Valley crew who are celebrating their 2-year anniversary at this event. They’ve been working hard with local talent and cool venues like BSP Lounge to lick shots in the air for the poets and beatsmiths soon to emerge from the town of Kings.
