The Low End Theory is arguably A Tribe Called Quest’s best album. From the amazing jazz samples used to Phife and Tip’s witty lyricism, the project is flawless; a testament to what solidified their place in hip hop history.
In a recent profile and interview with BBC Radio, Q-Tip announced there will be a reissue of the album in celebration of its 25th anniversary. The reissue will feature the original cover concept and unreleased tracks. This is definitely great news for Tribe fans considering they performed for the last time as a group last year on the NYC Yeezus tour stops. Q-Tip also revealed plans about his upcoming album, The Last Zulu, which he says will be “an evil twin to Tribe.” That should be interesting.
Check out the full interview here, as Q-Tip talks the early days of Tribe, how he initially got into music, and working with J Dilla, Nas, and Mobb Deep.
