PREMIERE: Murs and 9th Wonder ‘Brighter Daze’

A New Year's Eve surprise from the duo.

9th Wonder set Christmas on fire when he bodied his episode of Rhythm Roulette, and now the producer has teamed up with Murs for their sixth collaborative album, Brighter Daze. The project begins with Murs addressing him and 9th’s return, after their album The Final Adventure was believed to be their final collaboration. Murs puts all that shit to rest by stating, “It’s Murs and 9th Wonder and we back to fuck it up again.” From there, we get the two-joint, movie-like track—a signature feature on each project from the duo—in the form of “God Black/Black God.” On a majority of these jawns, Murs gets introspective while telling a variety stories, including one about a botched robbery with a homie who he put on his first mixtape cover. The entrancing and detailed rhyming from Murs is not the only feat here, as 9th Wonder provides some of his most soulful beats to date.

The 12-track project features appearances from Mac Miller, Problem, Rapsody, Bad Lucc, and more. Listen to the New Year present from Murs and 9th Wonder below.
