Exclusive new shit from the home girl L.atasha A.lcindor. You may remember this Brooklyn emcee from our 7 Deadly Femcees series last November. Now she’s back at it with a new video for her latest track “MOMA.”
L.atasha A.lcindor, previously known as L.A. is a multifaceted artist; a poet, playwright, dancer, actress, video director and graphic designer. She is way more than just your average rapper. Having performed at a myriad of events including; the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, MTV’s “SuckerFree,” and Jay Z’s “That’s Rocawear” campaign, this lady has a lot to brag about. However, she stays humble, hungry and in the present. A.lcindor utilizes her understanding of the world to create stories. Unconcerned if others completely understand her work or not, she finds joy in experimentation.
“I hope that soon there will be a female story in hip hop, that goes far beyond gender and genre,” she said. “‘MOMA’ is about understanding yourself as a masterpiece, a piece of work and respecting the art you are. The God connection you have. The mind you must blow away in order to be that higher self.”
The video, directed by Steven Alexander, is beautifully shot, with stunning photographic imagery. It is a true tableau vivant. Keep an eye out for more content soon to come.
