Pistons Microchip Laced Jackets Adds Flavor To Detroit’s Return
Basketball is the latest industry in Detroit to be re-energized with technology, the type you can wear.
Detroit has seen better days but it looks like the Motor City is undergoing a rebirth as the next tech hub in America. Sure, Michigan makes us think of cars, but when the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and Twitter rolled into D-town earlier this year, ears shot up.
Now the Detroit Pistons are getting in on the act, giving out microchip equipped jackets to season ticket holders which will identify members at two levels of perks: Red and Black. Bonuses include, 30% off on merchandise, and 20% off beverages and food, purchased at The Palace.
“Being the first NBA team to implement this type of microchip technology, the exclusive on-court jacket is one example of how we are finding new ways to reward our loyal season ticket holders and enhance their fan experience,” said Jeff Ajluni, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer for Palace Sports & Entertainment.
Season Tickets on the low end run at $525.00.
