OutKast Shuts Down Coachella
Reunited and it feels so...good?
Last night’s OutKast reunion performance was over a decade in the making. The duo opened with their hit “Bombs Over Baghdad,” and over their 90 minute set performed 27 songs from their extensive catalog, covering tracks such as “Hey Ya,” “ATLiens,” and “Rosa Parks.” OutKast was joined on stage by guests Sleepy Brown, Janelle Monáe, and Future who performed tracks off his forthcoming album Honest.
The performance began as a joint effort, but soon diverged into separate solo sets from André 3000 and Big Boi. At times, the chemistry between the two seemed to be a little off, but that’s to be expected of a group which has been on hiatus for so long. OutKast is set to headline many festivals over the next few months, and though the duo’s Coachella performance wasn’t perfect, the fact that André 3000 and Big Boi are finally performing together again is huge.
The group is set to play Coachella again next weekend, before performing at festivals throughout the summer. Check video of the performance in the player above, and peep the setlist below.
