“Off Tha’ Wall” – Oh No

We chop it up with the Oxnard, CA producer & emcee on his big brother Madlib, Ox City, Bob James, and of course Big Smoke!

On this episode of Off Tha’ Wall, we’re joined by producer & rapper extraordinaire Oh No. The Oxnard, CA representer first captured the attention of hip hop’s underground scene when he appeared on the Cali collective Lootpack’s album Soundpieces: Da Antidotein 1999. Five years later he went on to drop his debut album The Disrupt via Stones Throw Records to critical acclaim and has continued to build on that success, recently teaming up with fellow Cali producer Alchemist (the two also comprise hip hop duo Gangrene) to score the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto V.

We chopped it up with Oh No about a variety of topics including his favorite artist to sample, dream studio session, his hometown of Oxnard, CA, and beat battling his big brother Madlib. While Oh No admitted he may not be able to defeat Madlib in a battle, he has handed out a few ass-whooping in “Ring King.”

Watch the full interview above to see what else Oh No had to say, and make sure to pick up a copy of his new album, Disrupted Ads.
