NYPD Arrest and Beat Man Sleeping on His Ride Home From Work

The NYPD is not to be slept on.

You know how it is… You’ve had a long day at work and it’s finally over. So you get on the F train and get ready for a long journey back to The Bridge. Your eyelids start to feel heavy, so you begin to take a short nap on the way home. And then New York’s “Finest” come and beat yo ass down and haul you off to the nearest police station. Hold on, something’s not right here.

In what is becoming an all-too-familiar occurrence, it seems that yesterday another black man in New York City has been arrested and beaten by the NYPD for doing absolutely nothing (well, for sleeping). Watch the enraging video above courtesy of WSHH. What is perhaps most strange about the situation though, is that an elderly Hispanic gentleman joins in. As the man being arrested repeatedly asks what the hell he thinks he is doing, “Primo” continues to detain the innocent suspect even though he is quite clearly not a cop (that’s got to be illegal, right?), making the situation far more heated.

For your information, here is the number for the Midtown North precinct where this video appears to have been taken: (212) 767-8400. And here are the badge numbers of some of the offending officers in the video: #28230 and #30408.
