When LeBron James first decided to “take his talents to South Beach” and join the Miami Heat, he faced the ultimate scrutiny and went from the NBA’s golden child to national villain. As of last night, James is now a 2x NBA Champion as well as Finals MVP for the second year in a row. The MVP silenced his critics and led his team to a Game 7 victory against the “aged like wine” San Antonio Spurs. LeBron’s getting the King’s treatment as he claimed his throne yet again. Say what you want about the man, but there is no doubt that he is on his way to becoming one of the greatest of all time. The future couldn’t be brighter, and what’s even more scary is that King James is only 28, yikes!
To celebrate Bron’s back to back championships, Nike is set to release the LeBron X “Championship Pack.” The pack features both high and low renditions of the X model, the Lebron X Elite edition that the two time champ was seen sporting throughout the finals, as well as the LeBron X Low “Two Time Champion.” Along with the sneakers Nike will release two snapbacks complimenting the sneaker designs and a “WIITNESS” tee to complete the pack. No word on a release date for the pack yet, and we’re hoping they won’t be as crazy limited as the Lebron X “What the MVPs.”
Nike also celebrated their brand’s ambassador by releasing a commercial following Game 7, featuring what we would imagine James’s voicemail sounds like right now. The ad features congratulations from Spike Lee, Dr. Dre, Drake, and 11x NBA Champ Bill Russell. Not too shabby, lord only knows what other supermodels, world leaders, fashion designers, and pop icons are hitting LeBron’s inbox. Congratulations to the Miami Heat on their repeat season as they captured their third NBA title this year.
We are all WIITNESSES!
