On this episode of Rhythm Roulette we have co-founder of Fool’s Gold Records and “one of the US’s premiere party DJs” – Nick Catchdubs. The man who wears many hats has also added solo-artist/producer to his resume, with an upcoming project titled Smoke Machine featuring IAMSU, Troy Ave, Heems, World’s Fair, MNDR, B.I.C. and more.
We visited Good Records in the East Village to pull from some of their dollar bins before heading to Nick’s studio out in Brooklyn. We were more than pleased with the result, as Nick demonstrated the bond between classic hip hop production techniques and modern day electronic music. In today’s technologically morphing world, production styles and techniques have been impacted as much as anything else. Check out what Nick delivers in both his music and his words of wisdom for future producers.
