MoMA Announces Bjork Retrospective

Bjork is Art

In the spring of 2015, MoMA will play host to a retrospective on Bjork, which will span the artist’s 20-year career. The retrospective will focus on her musical endeavors, as well as her numerous collaborations with artists, photographers, and fashion designers over the course of that period.

Sound and video clips, visual images, costumes and instruments will be included in the exhibition, as will a text written by Bjork and Sjon Sigurdsson that the museum describes as “both biographical and imaginatively fictitious.”

“Bjork is an extraordinarily innovative artist whose contributions to contemporary music, video, film, fashion and art have had a major impact on her generation worldwide. This highly experimental exhibition offers visitors a direct experience of her hugely collaborative body of work.”

Bjork will be on view from March 7 through June 7, 2015 at MoMA.
