God, the Japanese are just so damn good at fashion. Who else but a Japanese company like mita sneakers create an iteration of Puma’s simple, elegant suede profile with effing lights in it?
Forget everything you know about sneakers with lights in them (read: LA Lights.) The sneaker is your standard Puma lowtop, available in brown or black suede. It’s really sort of unremarkable until you get to the inlaid LED light in its heel panel, which flickers at a consistent rate to alert passing motorists to your presence at night. Also, the heel pull tab is done up in rainbow twill, which has nothing to do with nighttime safety, but it’s cool anyway.
Watch the promo video from Puma, which showcases Shingo420 & Yohei Uchino shredding a Japanese city after nightfall on skateboard & bike. The track from Sugaya Bros. is heart-pounding, as is the stunting.
The kicks are available now at mita’s webstore.
