Photographer Michael Shainblum takes you on a kaleidoscopic journey in his short film “Mirror City.” The stunning visuals are comprised of his time-lapse photography from a variety of cities like Chicago, Las Vegas, and San Francisco. At first, the effects are simple, making the architecture recognizable. As the film progresses, Shainblum takes the visuals into a more abstract direction, to the point that it’s almost impossible to recognize what you’re looking at.
“Many people visit these large cities every day, and all of these places have been shot and filmed, but I wanted to emulate these urban landscapes in a way that nobody has even seen before.” – Michael Shainblum
I think it’s safe to say he succeed. Watch the short film “Mirror City” above, and afterwards, head over to Vimeo to see more of Shainblum’s work.
