Between his day job in the NBA, and fledgling acting career, Metta World Peace is no stranger to the director’s lens. Now the player formerly known as Ron Artest, is developing a gag show, focusing on pro athletes, their entourages, families and associated fans.

Co-developed by Metta’s Artest Media Group, and LMNO Productions, the goal of “Metta World Pranks” is to catch an assortment of sports stars on camera unawares, whereupon hilarity ensues. Says LMNO CEO Eric Schotz, “pranking and practical jokes are part of the athletic culture, so it comes naturally to Metta.”

Even the calmer, new age MWP can still be unpredictable, so we’re not sure what to expect. The “TV show” could all just be a slick cover for his random on court activities. Throw a hard elbow towards James Hardin’s head? “Sorry ref, it’s part of a bit. Don’t suspend me.” Tackle another ball player to the ground? “Surprise, you’re on Candid Camera!” The biggest prank of all? World Peace straps down opposing players, and forces them to listen to his entire rap catalog. The humanity.

Currently, no time frame has been given for the project, but expect the star forward to soon be punking players on a tube near you.
