Memorial Day – Sure’s Indelible Mark

This Memorial Day the Mass Appeal team takes a moment to remember Sure, an influential Brooklyn graffiti writer who lost his life serving in the Marines in Afghanistan in 2010.

Memorial Day signifies the unofficial start of Summer. Nowadays it’s more often associated with BBQ’s and beaches than remembering those who have served our nation. The Mass Appeal Team would like to take the occasion to remember Sure, a graffiti writer born and raised in Brooklyn known for his elegant handstyle that was omnipresent throughout New York City. Sure was also a Marine who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and in December 2010 was killed at the age of 23. Following his passing some friends, family and fellow Marines got Sureshot tattoos in his memory. Semper Fidelis.
