Meet Master Art Forger Mark Landis

Meet Master Art Forger Mark Landis

Soft-spoken, mild-mannered, and vaguely criminal, Mark Landis is a master art forger who has passed off fakes as authentic works at about 50 institutions in 20 States for nearly 30 years. Strange but no scoundrel, the 57-year-old Mississippi native didn’t sell his forgeries for profit, instead he “donated” his copies of American Impressionist paintings to small, local museums in the name of his honor his dead parents. To avoid any suspicion he’d pose as a business man or a Jesuit priest collar and all. Check out the video above and  go to The Avant/Garde Diaries to read their profile of him.
