August 1st, 2013 marks the end of a New York City era. The Lower East Side hub for artists, misfits, skaters, and locals of all shapes and stripes–Max Fish–concludes its multi-decade run soon and its calling all supporters to come rock out this coming Thursday, July 25th with The Good Life for a proper farewell.
Attendees will also be closing out the establishment’s final art show, End Of Days, which appropriately sums up the collective brilliance of many of the bar’s talented supporters, including some works from Mass Appeal contributors Jason Goldwatch and Wyatt Neumann, among some infamous others like Ricky Powell and George Horner.
Here’s to The Fish and all of the memorable locals, visitors, days, nights, and in-betweens that helped make it Lower East Side hallowed grounds. May the legacy continue in its forthcoming Williamsburg, Brooklyn home. But before then, gather up and pay your respects this Thursday.
