Presenting the Mass Appeal x El Señor x Earsnot “Jersey Barrier” Pendant— a wearable homage to the spontaneity and skill set of skateboarding and graffiti culture. Comprised of one part durability and one part geographical placement, the ubiquitous Jersey Barrier has, for a long time, been a staple in urban architecture. Its broad, sloping face, and concrete makeup— intended for vehicle traffic— has invited both rippers and writers to reimagine it as a canvas for their expressionist needs. That being said, it was only right for us to link up with California-bred skate legend and El Señor owner Spencer Fujimoto and famed New York City graffiti vandal Earsnot (IRAK) for the one-of-a-kind tribute.
The pendant is a 14K gold-plated, true-to-scale barrier (24mm x 11mm) with the “Mass Appeal” tag engraved in Earsnot’s infamous handstyle— a killer union of aesthetics and authenticity— secured onto a 24-inch box chain. Contained to an ultra-limited run of only 50 units worldwide, each pendant is individually numbered and engraved with the El Señor name. The perfect piece for any true fan of street skateboarding and graffiti.
To commemorate the release, we got together with some New York skaters for a session Uptown and filmed them skating some of the infamous barriers, both of the classic concrete and the plastic variety. The vibe was great and energy was high despite the sweltering sun, and each skater truly showcased his unique skill set on the obstacle. A huge thanks to Israel Adonis, Isaac Jaquez, Rainer Peralta, Bogdan Dzyurak, Eugene Kang, Scot Schwartz, and Andre Beverley for bringing out their best.
