Mache Custom Kicks Sons Yeezy
While the Air Yeezy 2 has yet to hit stores, leave it to custom sneaker artist Mache to make a pair that will make you lose your hair. No Amber.
Mache is known for his custom sneaker orders by celebrities such as Just Blaze, Wale, and Clark Kent. KicksOnFire reported on his latest inspiration: the Son of Yeezy, a twist on the Jordan Son of Mars. Mache’s concept is a 1 of 1. Check out more shots of the Son of Yeezy, including the kicks that started it all below. When we caught up with the design guru yesterday, he gave us a little insight on why he made the Son of Yeezy, and their future on your feet.
Size: 12, made for myself.
Time of Production: 1 day (compare that to the estimated 30 hours it took to produce the Beetlejuice dunks)
Avg. Price: $500, if they were for sale.
Craziest Custom Order: A pair of Hyperdunks that resemble Air Mags for a guy getting married. People want the things I’ve already done.
Inspiration for Son of Yeezy: The strap, the mid-sole of the Jordan Son of Mars. They didn’t get good fanfare. People were shitting on the Son of Mars. I wanted to make it resemble the Yeezy’s but not look like a bootleg. [Editor’s Note: Via Mache’s instagram, his Son of Yeezy caption says, “Turning a Flero into a Lamborghini custom.”]
