Premiere: The Lucid FC Twins Break Down Their Spring 2014 Collection
The twins give the full scoop on their latest collection.
Lucid FC isn’t just another streetwear brand, it’s slowly becoming a way of life. Hitting hard with their Spring 2014 Collection, the Atlanta-based clothing line went all out for a well-rounded array of offerings this season. The spring lineup channels the sailor in all, with a clean, nautical aesthetic embodying the collection. The accompanying Reginald Levy photographed lookbook displays the collection in all its glory, honing in on the twins cold chilling poolside.
In addition to the various clothing options, which range from short and long sleeve tops, to outerwear and hats, there are a lot of firsts occurring with this drop. The Spring ’14 collection sees the inaugural female release in the ¾ Sleeve Dress, along with Lucid’s first major collaboration, with iconic workwear outfitter Dickies. Accessory items include logo infused pint glasses, ash trays, lighters, and even welcome mats.

Logo Striped Long Sleeve
Chet DeHart: I was inspired to make this because whenever I think spring I always think of my mother wearing her spring stripes. Also, one spring when we were growing up we went on a boat for a whole week. The captain was a super cornball because he draped and carried himself like the epitome of a sailing captain: stripes, beard, tattoos. The whole nine yards.
¾ Sleeve Striped Women’s Dress
Both: This is our first female item. We are taking a risk with this, but Lucid wants to produce men’s and women’s clothing, so you have to start somewhere, and a striped dress is perfect.
“USA Made” Striped Short Sleeve Tee
Chet: This is the staple in the Spring collection! This one follows a Japanese, Uniqlo vibe.
Black Metallic “URL Text” Windbeaker
Betts: This item is a little less minimalistic, but still stays true to our roots with the URL logo on the side. It took the longest time to design and it’s also the most limited item for this collection.
Striped “3 Ball” Rugby Polo
Betts: This features our new alternative logo, the 3ball logo which takes inspiration from a Japanese baseball team.
Lucid FC For Dickies Skinny Pants
Both: Dickies are fucking awesome, and super durable. They are very minimalistic, so they’re perfect when properly executed. We contacted them, and asked if we could be licensed to use their products. They immediately approved. It was an awesome feeling. The Dickies we have releasing are very simple and fit perfectly. It is our favorite item for spring.

Chet: We’ve always admired Bape for all of their home décor accessories. One day you’ll never be able to forget the brand logo because we will have whatever you want already made.

Betts: Every smoker uses ashtrays, so it was a no brainer. It’s all about marketing and branding!

Betts: This was made to balance out hobbies. Some drink, some smoke, some just collect weird accessories.
Chet: I don’t drink, but when I do it’s in class.
