Kyle Rapps joins forces with ICK’s Spaceman for his latest visual off the Mishka-sponsored SUB project, “Coco Puffs.” This ain’t no kids cereal we’re talking about here. All seems to be going well for Kyle; he’s seen romancing a shorty, getting ice cream and all that cute first date type stuff. Until he’s mistaken for a wanted murderer on the loose who resembles him. He dips out and tries to get away from mobs looking for retribution, decked out with lead pipes, baseball bats, crow bars, and even blades. The Ricky Shabazz directed video plays on Rapps and Spaceman’s similar appearance, which makes for comedy gold. It’s not often you see this kind of stuff.
The track itself is tough as nails, with Kyle Rapps and Spaceman going at it trading raw verses that’ll have you going cuckoo. . . for Coco Puffs of course. Space’s rapid-fire flow is perfectly suited to the Belief-produced track, while Rapps spits some raps explaining why his flow is so crack. All in all, “Coco Puffs” brings together two contrasting rap styles while combining rappers who look almost exactly alike. Side note: If Kyle and Space ever collab in the near future they should go by “The Dread Connection.” (You’re welcome).
Expect this shit to head the next General Mills campaign for your favorite chocolatey breakfast cereal, part of any nutritious rap rotation.
