Kembe X “Rap Game”

After dropping out of school and getting into the music industry, young Chicago rapper, Kembe X, lets you know how he feels about the "Rap Game."

Young Chicago rapper Kembe X puts visuals to his latest single “Rap Game,” off his Soundtrack II Armageddon EP. After dropping out of high school his sophomore year and an altercation with his father, the adolescent rapper decided to take rap seriously. The Endocolor-directed video keeps things minimal with a sprinkle of special effects as the Chi-town emcee speaks his piece about the unappealing politics of the music industry. When asked about the making of the song Kemebe stated:

“Well I wrote that shit after having that beat for like a month cause I didn’t know exactly how I wanted to use it. I knew I wasn’t the only rapper who has a detailed perspective on how their art is handled and treated by the industry.  It seems like the closer I get to the rap game the more it surprises me with bullshit.”

From Chance the Rapper to Chief Keef, the Windy City’s rap scene seems to be growing more dynamic by the day. Kembe X is a prime example of that. You can stream Soundtrack II Armageddon EP below.
