The new trailer for JIMI: ALL IS BY MY SIDE has dropped, giving folks their first true extended glimpse of Andre Benjamin (Andre 3000) as the late, great Jimi Hendrix. The new flick is written and directed by John Ridley, aka homie that scribed the 2013 jammie jam 12 Years a Slave.
Folks will get to check out
The Artist Formerly known as Yarn Pants André (get them official checks bruh) playing Jimi during the 1966-1967 period. The film will be focused on his rise from backup guitarist at NY’s Cheetah Club, through his time in the London music scene, all leading up to his iconic set at the Monterey Pop Festival.
You’ll still have to wait a bit to catch the film; JIMI: ALL IS BY MY SIDE opens September 26.
