J. Cole “Forbidden Fruit” feat. Kendrick Lamar

J. Cole tempts us with his latest track, "Forbidden Fruit" featuring Kendrick Lamar. Hopefully, "Forbidden Fruit" is enough to hold us over until the rumored Cole-Lamar album surfaces.

Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole chilling on the couch

J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar have left our minds wondering what their “so-called” joint album will sound like. As of today, we finally have a track to help us grasp a mental picture.

Cole drops yet another song off his second album, Born Sinner, entitled “Forbidden Fruit”, which features Kendrick Lamar’s vocals on the smooth chorus (no rap features on the album as promised).

The “tainted berry” coast along the baseline of A Tribe Called Quest’s “Electric Relaxation,” and reminds us that “bitches come and go,” along with money and love.

“Forbidden Fruit” should hold us over until the rumored Cole-Lamar album, but the anticipation for the collaborative project is kind of like that famous quote from the 1989 classic film, Harlem Nights.

Vera: “I get my mouth all set for some orange juice and it’s just a swallow in the container!”

Bennie Wilson: “Well swallow it and shut the fuck up!”

We’ll take the swallow for now (pause).
