It’s been an extraordinary year for Grammy Award-winning artist/producer Hit-Boy. At just 26 years of age the soundboard whiz-turned-MC, has not only worked with some of the world’s most influential artists (Kanye West, Jay-Z, Will I. Am, A$AP Rocky) to produce some of the most buzz-worthy tunes of the past two years (N*ggaz In Paris, Goldie, Clique), he’s also accomplished the elusive task of inking his very own deal with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music and a signee at Blueprint Group/Interscope. That said, noting that Hit-Boy has “finally arrived” would be a terrible understatement.
For his latest video and single “Jay-Z Interview Pt. 2″, a continuation of the famed “Jay-Z Interview” track, Hit-Boy puts on his introspective hat and reflects on the evolution of his career since then. It appears that even though the changes of international recognition and industry success have become welcomed guests, flying all over the world in private jets with his entourage and working studio sessions with renowned musicians haven’t kept him from staying grounded.
With a little over a year since the debut of the original, we’d say that the timing for a return to the essence of his personal Cinderella story couldn’t be more appropriate. Take a year’s-worth of behind-the-scenes riding with the prodigy as he visually celebrates the fruits of his newfound glory and revisits the humility of the grind.
Hit-Boy will continue the momentum by joining Lil’ Wayne and T.I. on their 2013 America’s Most Wanted Festival Tour kicking off in Birmingham, Alabama on July 9th. His All I’ve Ever Dreamed Of compilation album is available now via his official website House of Hit.
