“The liquid soluble that made up the chemistry / A gaseous element, that burned down your ministry”
– “Duel of the Iron Mics”

GZA teamed up with the TEDx Teen Talk series for “The Genius of Science” to educate the youth about science through rhymes. Traveling on a cosmic journey the legendary emcee takes us through his interests in science as a kid and the inspiration behind the program:

“But why science? Because aside from its technological relevance in all areas of life, science is a way to increase our understanding about the physical universe. The more we open up to the universe, the more it opens up to us.”

Before closing out, the Rap Genius Semifinalist Students hopped on stage to spit rhymes about gravity and Isaac Newton. GZA followed up with a verse from his upcoming physics-inspired album Dark Matter.
