The main man behind the Shamrock Social Club on LA’s storied Sunset Strip, Mark Mahoney came up as a tattoo artist in the late 70’s in New England and then to the Lower East Side, eventually following the bright colored biker tattoos of the day down to southern California. There, Mahoney found Bert Grims, a legendary tattoo shop on the Pike and never looked back. With a tendency to create in black and gray from his days as a kid coloring with Crayolas, he’s grown to help define this style of tattooing, and today is a living legend. In this video Mahoney talks about the heart of tattooing, the energy of a tattoo shop, and shootouts in the parking lots in between.

*Fellowship Supply Co. exists to promote craftsmanship while furthering the artistry of the tattoo community. We honor the dedication of artists before us through dedication of our own, shunning shortcuts in favor of sacrifice. For those who find joy in creating, the role of a maker is a life, not a living.*
