FAILE x NYC Ballet: Les Ballets de Faile

They never thought that street art would take it this far. There are few pieces of culture as high brow as ballet. Street art, on the other hand, is intended for consumption by everyday pedestrians making the walls of a city the gallery. That’s what makes this collaboration between the New York City Ballet and Brooklyn-based art duo FAILE so interesting. As part of NYCB’s Art Series it has commissioned FAILE’s Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller to create original works of art inspired by the Company each event combines a ballet performance with an art exhibition. Tickets for the shows  went on sale today at the NYCB’s site are a each attendee to the Feb. 1 and May 29 Art Series performances will get a limited-edition piece of FAILE artwork made specifically for each event.
