Elephants in Israel Protect Young From Incoming Missiles

Yesterday, rockets fired from the Gaza strip targeting densely populated urban areas reached over 100 miles into Israel. Zookeepers at the Ramat Gan Safari Zoo in Tel Aviv shot this video of elephants forming a barricade around their young as air raid sirens go off. Watch as the elephants stand in front of their young, shielding them from any potential danger. The Safari Zoo has been successfully breeding endangered Asian elephants over the last two years.

This is the first time rockets have reached central Israel, but thankfully there were no injuries or casualties.
