Toronto & Brooklyn meet again on wax, building the anticipation for the release of Nothing Was the Same.

After debuting “Too Much” on Late With Jimmy Fallon, Drake returns with a new two-part track entitled, “Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2,” the former featuring Jay Z. While their previous collaboration “Light Up” features a much more cautionary Jay–giving Drake words of wisdom on how to maneuver in the industry–“Pound Cake” is Jay welcoming Drizzy to the party, with boastful raps about the millions up for grabs. With lines like, “I hear you talking, say it twice so I know you meant it / Fuck it I don’t even tint it they should know who’s in it,” Drake lets listeners know he’s no stranger to stunting.

From the tracks we’ve heard so far, the Toronto MC’s third studio album, Nothing Was The Same, serves a notice to the game: he’s no longer the new kid on the block, and isn’t afraid to stake his claim for the throne.

Listen to “Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2” below and let us know if you’re digging the track/s.

NWTS drops Tuesday Sep. 24 (after originally being scheduled to release this Tuesday Sep. 17), but most fans have been frantically looking for a download link to the album, which leaked this past Sunday.
