Does America Really Love Molly?

Does America Really Love Molly?

MDMA got you feeling like a champion? You aren’t the only one.

The 2014 Global Drug Survey confirmed the fact that MDMA, aka Molly, aka OMG-this-feels-so-amazing-right-now is a commonly favored drug throughout the world. Nearly 80,000 people participated in “the biggest survey of current drug use ever conducted,” which took place from November to December in 2013. The survey covered everything from the pleasure derived from each substance to how the much cost factored into choosing which drug to use:

Drugs prices varied widely – the average price of gram of high potency cannabis being 12 euros [$16.60] but varied almost fourfold from 6 euros [$8.30] in Spain to over 20 [$27.67] in Ireland. Cocaine remained the most expensive drug at mean global single gram purchase price of 100 euros [$138.33] / gram (ranging in price from 50 [$69.16] in parts of Europe to over 250 [$345.82] in NZ, which also had the most expensive MDMA as well).

Regardless of price, cocaine was voted the worst value for money drug in the world, with a mean score of 3.4/10. MDMA was voted the best value for money drug in the world. The Belgians were the most satisfied with their cocaine with a mean rating of 5.5/10 and the Australians the least with rating of 2.2.

Alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis took the top three spots for popularity followed by caffeinated energy drinks (aka carbonated crack) and MDMA. However, the country by country break down shows that people in the US may be exaggerating how much they actually use molly.

Seven? Really? This is proof that while these rappers may be running around bragging about how sweaty they are from popping molly, they’re statistically probably not about that life. If anything, they should be rapping about the latest E-Cigarettes or whether they prefer Rasta Monsta over NOS.
