A group of skaters in Switzerland are taking the old saying “Where there’s a will, there’s a way” to new heights. Faced with little to no options when it came to skate spots—let alone parks—a few skaters took the initiative to build one. After some fundamental planning and rigorous work, The Beast was created in Switzerland. The mellow looking bowl represents way more than just a seriously dope new spot for some local shredders to escape to, it also stands for the global spread of an organic sport.
What started as a free-spirited activity on the shores of West LA, has been undoubtedly consuming the lifestyles of more and more children throughout the world each year. As skating grows in places where it was previously non-existent, it takes the skaters themselves to make it happen: to create a scene, to find spots, to build parks, and most importantly to live the lifestyle. All the way from Sweden to Uganda, and then to Japan, skaters from all over the world are taking matters into their own hands. Think it. Build it. Shred it.
