Converse CONS First String Engineered Auckland Racer

CONS on the run.

Converse is stepping into the arena of the casual running shoe, updating their Auckland Racer silhouette. Much like Nike’s Roshe and the adidas ZX Flux, Converse’s CONS First String Auckland Racer will be a slimmed down, lightweight running shoe created for the sartorially savvy.

Implementing three different weaving techniques— standard, twill, and basket— the upper of the CONS Auckland Racer comes together to form one unique silhouette. This is further complemented by waxed laces, a marbleized sock liner, a transparent rubber outsole, and an uber-light skeleton lining. Pretty swanky.

If those specs didn’t already get you hype, there’s more. More colorways that is.

Word is the “Mint Leaf” and “Fiery Coral” jammie jams come equipped with a speckled midsole and will be made available through Converse retail stores, Bodega in Boston, Juice in Hong Kong, and Patta in Amsterdam on August 15. The red and navy pairs will be exclusive to North American Converse Stores, and will be released on August 22.
