A Look at Cipha Sounds’ Don’t Get Gassed Comedy Series

A Look at Cipha Sounds’ Don’t Get Gassed Comedy Series

A few weeks ago Mass Appeal hit up Cipha Sounds’ Don’t Get Gassed Comedy Series for some laughs. We walked out with the buzz of an awesome night and tears in our eyes from the continual laughter.

Ciph invited us back stage to discuss his event and what got him started in comedy. No stranger to jokes, Ciph is known for his hilarious antics during his morning radio show on New York’s Hot 97, alongside Peter Rosenberg and K Foxx. Although music is his first love, he’s taken his passion for comedy to the next level. He has been hosting the comedy series for five years now, but more recently, Cipha Sounds has been performing all around the city. In addition to working New York’s comedy circuit with his stand-up routine, he’s been holding it down with the widely-known improv group, Upright Citizens Brigade.

This year’s comedy series featured an awesome improv set from Ciph and his gang, comedic performances from Sherrod Small, Chris Distefano, Nore Davis and Frantz Casseus. We even witness Styles P, jumping up on stage and telling a hilarious story about grits, Moët, waiting for gas and cops. Yes, it was as funny as it sounds. All in everyone had a dope time. We’re looking forward to seeing more comedy from everyone’s favorite DJ. Peep the vid above for a look at the nights’ action.
